About the Role:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for experienced Welders to join their team based in Portsmith, QLD. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a reputable company and work on large-scale steel fabrication and welding projects in a well-resourced and supportive environment.

The successful candidates will be involved in the fabrication, assembly, and welding of steel components while ensuring compliance with all safety and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide fabrication and welding processes.

Perform structural steel fabrication, cutting, shaping, and assembly of components.

Carry out MIG, TIG, and Stick welding as required by project specifications.

Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Work with various materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Operate hand and power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery.

Maintain a safe and organized workspace in alignment with occupational health and safety regulations.

Collaborate with tradespeople, project managers, and supervisors to meet project timelines.

Participate in training sessions, toolbox talks, and upskilling programs.

Support and mentor apprentices and junior tradespeople when required.

Candidate Requirements:

Trade qualification in Boilermaking, Metal Fabrication, or Welding.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant welding or boilermaking role.

Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.

Proven commitment to safety and quality standards.

Experience in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding (highly desirable).

Team player with a proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
