Position Summary

The primary role of this position is to perform routine Inventory, Shipping & Receiving functions and/or Material handling under direct supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential functions that may be assigned include:

Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a mobile computer.

Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.

Verify inventory counts of stock items and notify supervisor of discrepancy.

Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.

Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.

Operate Material Handling equipment, including forklift operation.

Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.

Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

Aid other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.

Always maintains a safe, clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

Minimum one (1) years’ experience in a warehouse environment.

Ability to perform basic math calculations such as converting meters to feet and vice versa, calculating square feet, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

Safety-minded approach to daily activities in the workplace.

Customer-satisfaction focused approach to daily interactions with internal customers and service providers.

Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills are required.

Effective time management skills to meet operational needs.

Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Applications and experience with Inventory Management Systems.
