Position Overview:
Here at Certerra we are looking to bring on additional Geotechnical professionals to join our growing operations in Charleston, SC.
Responsibilities:
Provide Geotechnical investigation, design, cost estimates, scope-of-work, contracts, and coordination for geotechnical investigations and soils lab analysis.
Support field investigations for geotechnical projects.
Perform sampling and logging for drill holes and test pits.
Collect, analyze, and interpret geotechnical data for building foundations, roads, other engineered structures including bearing capacity, settlement, and erosion.
Provide field observations, data, maps, and calculations in geotechnical reports.
Provide project and site management of geotechnical projects to ensure worksite and projects safety.
Interface with other staff to coordinate geotechnical related aspects of projects.
Write and compile geotechnical engineering reports.
Maintain a positive working relationships with team members to interact with them on projects.
Collaborate with Certerra management and other teams to prioritize projects, workloads and needs.
Work with clients to ensure projects are meeting their goals and needs, then communicate necessary adjustments to managements, teams, and owners.
Work within a team to resolve internal conflicts and avoid escalation of issues.
Engage in appropriate professional development to enhance performance.
Model appropriate professional standards.
Education/ Qualifications:
5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
Minimum BS in Civil Engineering
Excellent communication skills
Experience with designing retaining walls, GeoStudio Slop/W software, AutoCad, GIS and Microsoft Office Products.
Experience as a Engineering Geologist is a plus.
