# Community Health Advocate & Mentor Internship

## Position Overview

The Community Health Advocate & Mentor internship offers a unique opportunity for passionate undergraduate and graduate students to contribute meaningfully to global conversations about mental health, wellness, and purpose-driven living. As an intern, you'll support our **My Health** section, helping to destigmatize wellness challenges while providing holistic approaches to thriving across diverse communities.

This position provides hands-on experience in health advocacy, content creation, community engagement, and mentorship—all within a flexible, remote environment that accommodates your academic schedule.

## Responsibilities

- **Content Development:** Research and craft authentic content about mental and behavioral health for our quarterly publication's **My Health** and **Joy** sections and digital platforms

- **Community Outreach:** Identify and connect with diverse voices willing to share their mental health journeys and wellness strategies

- **Peer Mentorship:** Provide support and guidance to community members navigating their own wellness journeys

- **Resource Compilation:** Create accessible, culturally-responsive wellness resources for diverse audiences

- **Digital Engagement:** Monitor and meaningfully engage with our online community discussions about health topics

- **Collaborative Projects:** Work with other interns and contributors on special health initiatives and themed content

- **Conference Support:** Assist with planning health-focused sessions for our annual Global Stories of Purpose Conference

## Qualifications

### Required:

- Current enrollment in undergraduate or graduate program (all disciplines welcome)

- Strong interest in community health, mental wellness, and purpose-driven advocacy

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment

- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in health conversations

- Personal alignment with Voice Up Publishing's core values

### Preferred:

- Background in public health, psychology, social work, counseling, or related fields

- Experience with content creation, social media management, or digital storytelling

- Previous volunteer or work experience in mental health advocacy

- Multilingual capabilities (to help expand our global reach)

- Familiarity with wellness approaches from diverse cultural perspectives
