SUMMARY

Makanan Dumpling house is famously located at the Australian National University in Canberra and offers a wide varieties of food items to our customers. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and skilled cook to join our kitchen and assist our busy chefs with day to day kitchen activities.

DUTIES

• Preparing and cooking a diverse range of dishes according to our menu specifications.

• Demonstrate cooking skills in various Asian food items that are available in the restaurant.

• Preparing gravies and sauces that go with different food items available in the menu.

• Assist chefs to regulate food preparation timings, temperatures of various equipment like refrigerator, oven, grill, wok, pan, gas, etc.

• Ensure the food being prepared meets the hygiene requirements as per the standard.

• Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and reporting any malfunctions.

• Conducting regular stock checks and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.

• Working collaboratively as a team and maintaining the reputation of the business.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Qualification related to cooking and hospitality management required

Minimum 2 years as Cook

Candidate should have ability to adapt quickly with any changes to the menu.

Attention to details and ability to work well under pressure during busy time.

Must have good work ethic and time management skills.

Preferred but not essential - food safety certification.
