We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join our team as part-time Program Supervisors for our Before and/or After School Program at Beekman Elementary in Poughquag, NY.

PAY: $15.75 per hour

SCHEDULE: 7:00-8:30 am, 3:00-6:00 pm

JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

Lead engaging activities based on our Healthy Kids Curriculum, covering everything from fitness and STEAM to academics, arts, and beyond. And yes, help with homework too!

Foster a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children can thrive and feel excited to learn. Be a role model they admire daily.

Support the Site Director in key management tasks such as attendance tracking, registration, and staffing, and step up as the acting leader when the Site Director is absent.

Maintain open communication with parents and families via the Playground App, sharing updates and cherished moments.

Stay aligned with OCFS regulations, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program standards, and the host school's policies to ensure smooth operations.

Meet regularly with the Director to address challenges, strategize, and make informed decisions.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age.

OR

A School-age Child Care Credential or other recognized credentials for school-age children, plus one year of experience working with children under 13 years old;

OR

An Associate’s degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Be prepared for a background check (including fingerprinting, references, SEL & SCR through NYS Office of Children and Family Services).

Must be medically cleared by your doctor, including a clean bill of health (free of communicable diseases such as TB).

A friendly, approachable personality with outstanding interpersonal skills, whether interacting with kids, parents, or team members. You’re professional, dependable, and punctual.

Able to physically engage with children, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. to stay active and involved!
