We are seeking a passionate Director to lead our After School Program for the 2024-25 school year at Dorset Elementary School in Dorset, VT. In this role, you will be at the forefront of all aspects of the Healthy Kids Program Site operations.

JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: 2:50 pm - 5:30 pm

PAY: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overseeing Compliance: Ensure both staff and the program align with state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and our host school’s guidelines.

Delivering Fun: Lead engaging, hands-on activities in line with the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Also, assist with homework completion – you'll be the homework champion!

Managing Operations: Handle key administrative duties, including accurate attendance and registration tracking, while ensuring appropriate staffing to keep things running smoothly.

Communication is Key: Keep parents and family members updated through the Playground App.

Teamwork: Maintain open communication with your direct report, keeping them informed about daily activities and addressing any issues promptly. By collaborating closely as a team, we ensure the highest quality of care, a positive working atmosphere, and proactive solutions to challenges.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

To qualify as a director, you must meet or exceed the following criteria:

Be at least 18 years old and possess a BA, BS, or Associate’s degree, and have one of the following:

At least ten months of direct work experience with school-aged children, or

Vermont On-the-Job Training certificate, or

Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential, or

Vermont Program Director Credential, or

Vermont Teacher Licensure, or

Master’s Degree in a youth-related field.

QUALIFICATIONS

Be prepared to pass a background check.

A doctor's note confirming your medical fitness to perform all job duties and that you’re free of any communicable diseases, including TB.

You are friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic. You excel in people skills, whether interacting with children, parents, or colleagues. You are reliable, professional, and punctual.

You’re ready to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs., and stay active to keep up with the energetic kiddos!
