JOB SUMMARY

This position leads risk identification and mitigation. Perform risk analysis of current and future processes according to the criteria in the risk factor program. Reduction of accidents and risks in operations to ensure business continuity. Results will be reported to the EHS USA Manager who is responsible for the governance, new initiatives development and EHS risk reduction. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a safe and compliant work environment across multiple sites.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Risk Identification and Mitigation.

Lead the identification of risks across multiple US sites, focusing on operational safety and regulatory compliance.

Perform comprehensive risk analyses for current and future processes, applying the criteria outlined in the company's risk factor, ergonomic and health risk programs.

Develop, implement, and monitor risk mitigation strategies tailored to site-specific operations.

Training and Development

Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness of EHS policies and procedures.

Support the development of a proactive safety culture by mentoring employees on risk management and safe practices.

Collaborate with the Training Departments to identify, develop, and track the appropriate employee Environmental, Health & Safety training programs to improve employee safety knowledge.

Accident and Incident Reduction

Develop and enforce initiatives to reduce workplace accidents and operational risks.

Support and oversee incident investigation for accidents, incidents, and near-misses to ensure the correct root causes and recommend the best corrective actions for the success of the business.

Implement employee engagement and awareness programs to promote a safety-first culture among employees.

Conduct regular site audits and inspections to verify the efficacy of Risk and Ergonomic programs and align teams working to reduce risk identified.

Data Analysis and Reporting

Collect, analyze, and interpret EHS performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Prepare detailed reports on risk analysis, mitigation progress, and EHS performance metrics for the EHS USA Manager.

Provide actionable recommendations to enhance EHS processes and outcomes.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with site leaders, supervisors, and employees to implement EHS programs and initiatives effectively.

Communicate safety goals, policies, and expectations to all levels of the organization.

Act as a liaison between site operations and the EHS USA Manager to align site-specific actions with overarching EHS strategies.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in EHS processes, tools, and technologies.

Stay current with industry best practices and emerging EHS trends to incorporate them into company initiatives.

Policies, Procedures and Guidelines

Support development of Environmental, Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures that aligned with the Company, regional and business unit objectives to standardize across all US Sites.

Ensure the consistent implementation of EHS policies and practices across all assigned sites.

Share best practices and lessons learned across sites to drive organizational-wide EHS improvements.

Audit Program

Prepare for and participate in on-site inspections, audits, or site assessments including both third-party and internal self-audits

Manage audit action plans to facilitate prompt closure of action items with supporting documentation

Provide site-level guidance to develop and promptly implement audit action plans, and provide appropriate supporting documentation.

Leadership and Strategic Input

Provide strategic input to the EHS USA Manager regarding long-term safety initiatives and risk reduction goals.

Facilitate annual review of systems as applicable.

Assist and guide management on site-level Environmental, Health & Safety management system goals, objectives, and associated implementation plans with measureable attributes

Assist in development site-level continuous improvement initiatives / plans as necessary to align to Health & Safety management system objectives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Relevant technical certifications in Environmental, Health & Safety areas including Risk Identification across Health, Industrial Hygiene, and Ergonomic systems.

Demonstrated leadership skills

Root cause analysis expertise

Demonstrated understanding of local Environmental, Health & Safety laws and regulations

OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, NFPA, ANSI, NIOSH, CFR, IEC, DOT, PHMSA, RCRA, FMCSA

Ability to work in a cross functional team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding

Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills

Exhibit a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy

Work well under stress with the ability to deliver on time

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education / Experience

Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, engineering, or related field with Environmental, Health & Safety management emphasis and minimum of 5 years' experience in a related position and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field

Experience with wide range of Environmental, Health & Safety issues including those related to waste management, OSHA regulations, Risk Identification and Mitigation Processes

Experienced in addressing a wide range of EH&S programs

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Key Working Relationships

Works directly with US Legal Compliance Leader and EHS USA Manager

Coordinates with Monterrey and Brazil EHS teams

Operations Management, including plant Supervision, Quality, Planning, Engineering Organization

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Working Conditions

Shop floor and office environment, located on large manufacturing campus

Travel required to other US sites
