Toxic Confessions is searching for a visionary Lead Videographer/Editor to take our new show to the next level. On Instagram (@txcconfessions), we command more than 208k followers who share their confessions to the world—real-life stories of revenge, secrets, and drama. You will shoot and edit 15-minute (scaling to 1-hour) episodes, turning their raw confessions into cinematic gold. Based in Columbia, SC, you’ll ignite a cultural movement with global impact.
Responsibilities:
- Film episodes using your own camera, capturing high-quality footage.
- Work with the Director to execute shot lists and visual style.
- Set up basic lighting and framing for varied Columbia locations.
- Ensure smooth video capture during 1–3 day shoots per episode.
- Edit raw footage into polished 15-minute (later 1-hour) episodes.
- Apply transitions, pacing, and effects to enhance dramatic impact.
- Incorporate free music (e.g., YouTube Audio Library) and basic sound design.
- Deliver final cuts within 5–10 days per episode for weekly releases.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience filming and editing video (film, events, shorts, or media—at least 1 completed project each).
- Strong technical skills with camera operation and editing software (e.g., Premiere, DaVinci Resolve).
- Must reside in or near Columbia, SC.
- Must own camera (DSLR, mirrorless, or equivalent), tripod, and laptop with editing capabilities.
- Portfolio showcasing past video and editing work (links or attachments).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with dramatic lighting, cinematic framing, or suspenseful cuts.
- Basic audio recording skills (e.g., lavalier or boom mic use).
- Knowledge of sound design or color grading.
- Familiarity with shooting in varied locations, low-budget setups, or episodic formats.
Compensation:
Volunteer through 2025, full-time salary ($40,000–$50,000/year) starting December 2025.
