What You Will Be Doing:

The Project Manager supports the order fulfillment of Yancey Engineered Solutions products by processing sale to completion. The Project Manager works closely with Sales, Engineering, Production and Customers to insure a successful completion of projects on time and on budget.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs a review of new projects to confirm the cost estimate and time line are achievable, works with the Salesman and Management to clear up any conflicts or misunderstandings

Technical – verifies that the quote and estimate meet the specifications and customer technical requirements; consult with the Application Engineer as needed

Purchase all items on General Arrangement Drawings; purchase and maintains inventory; purchase all Amazon requested items; purchases all office supplies

Performs month end invoicing

Performs month end General Ledger reconciliation

Open all new orders in appropriate systems

Back up for payroll approvals

Works with Production Manager on projects to insure dates are met and all questions are answered

Review Build of Materials requirements for projects

Support ISO9001 accreditation

Additional Responsibilities:

Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner

Additional duties as assigned by manager

Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should have prior experience as a manufacturing project manager or purchasing agent, administrative and organizational skills. You should be a critical thinker, able to lead by example, be comfortable with making decisions, show initiative, and a problem solver. Experience creating Excel spreadsheets to include formulas, charts/graphs and pivot tables is also required.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a manufacturing project manager or purchasing agent

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and communicate information via spreadsheets, email, drawings and project specifications

Ability to handle pressured situations with professionalism and calm

Ability to effectively ask, answer and respond to customer/employee/management questions in a professional and comfortable manner

Ability to communicate plans, goals and information effectively to the workforce

Skilled in basic computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Project

Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

Travel to meetings, customer sites and vendor sites will be required. May require some overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Associate's Degree and/or 5 years of experience in a Project Manager’s Role within Manufacturing or related experience within the industry is preferred

Manufacturing or related industry experience preferred

What You Will Be Doing:

As a Yancey Power Systems Project Manager you will support the sales of Yancey Power Systems (YPS) products (Generators, ATS, Paralleling Switchgear, & Accessories) by managing multiple project(s) to completion to the satisfaction for both internal & external customers. This position is responsible for providing management of Power Generation projects from receipt of purchase through final customer acceptance. You will organize, schedule, coordinate, purchase, communicate, and lead efforts of others. As part of the sales team, you will share the responsibility with the other members of the team to act in a manner that ensures the continued growth of the Power Systems business in line with the Company’s strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs a review of new projects to confirm accuracy of bill of materials, cost estimate and T&C’s. Works with the Salesman and Management to clear up any conflicts or misunderstandings.

Technical – verifies that the quote and estimate meet the specifications and customer technical requirements.

Works with customers to obtain submittal approval, release for manufacturing, ensure project times are met and all questions are answered.

Issue purchase orders to vendors to procure all equipment.

Coordinate and purchase services of shipping companies to deliver equipment in alignment with customer requirements.

Perform invoicing on all delivered goods and services.

Project Manage highly technical, commercially visible projects with key customers.

Mentor, assist, and cross train divisional employees.

Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should have excellent organizational and time management skills, be proactive in the approach of taking care of issues before they become problems, and collaborate with Yancey Sales Reps to exceed our customer’s project expectations. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or 10-years of applicable industry experience.

Minimum of 5-years experience as a project manager or engineer in the electric power industry or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired through receiving a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering

5+ years of project management experience of diesel & gaseous engines, generator sets, paralleling switchgear, automatic transfer switches (ATS), or related projects.

Must have strong human relations skills and the ability to work with people from all backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with appropriate influence and ability to resolve project issues.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills over telephone and through technology (email, text, etc.)

Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 5+ years of direct customer contact experience.

Excellent working knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and power generation systems (eg. diesel & gaseous engines, transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, and supporting equipment) ideally along with in-depth knowledge of the Caterpillar product line.

Skilled in the Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat business software
