Job Title: Mold Tooling Technician
Job Description
The Mold Tooling Technician is responsible for performing basic mold assembly and maintenance to ensure that tooling is production-ready at the time of the scheduled setup. The role requires maintaining efficiency, housekeeping, safety, and adherence to GMPs. The technician will assist in mold disassembly and assembly, identify potential issues with tooling through visual inspection, and perform core rod preventive maintenance on all tooling scheduled for setup.
Responsibilities
Assist in mold disassembly and assembly.
Identify potential issues with tooling through visual inspection.
Perform core rod preventive maintenance on all tooling scheduled for setup.
Assist Mold Shop personnel in inventory and other preparation tasks.
Disassemble, clean, inspect, and assemble all IBM tooling including mold components and core rods.
Prepare IBM tooling for setup and include all necessary components.
Identify tooling from prepared setup sheets necessary for setup.
Perform mold preventive maintenance at scheduled intervals.
Follow daily instructions from the department’s Group Leader.
Train new department employees in mold assembly and related techniques.
Ship molds to other plants with all components included and perform inventory and inspection of incoming molds.
Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills
Mechanical skills including disassembling and repair.
Experience with hand and power tools.
Preventive and corrective maintenance skills.
Ability to retrieve molds from racks and move them to the work area.
Proficiency in using hand tools to disassemble and reassemble molds.
Experience in mold repair and refurbishment.
Overhead crane operation skills.
Inventory control skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Basic math skills are required to measure tooling components.
Good mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and write to understand and complete production/engineering documentation.
Capability to slide heavy molds, in excess of 50 lbs., onto carts, tables, and machine surfaces.Why Work Here?
