What You'll Do
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for executing all transportation requirements by collaborating with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to schedule, manage, and track shipments from both domestic and international origins. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of goods, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer satisfaction.
OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate daily transportation activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
Partner with internal departments, including Warehouse Operations, and Procurement, to align shipping schedules and resolve logistical issues.
Work closely with 3PL providers to arrange pickups, manage transit schedules, and track shipments through to final delivery.
Monitor shipment status, proactively identify delays or disruptions, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation for all shipments, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and delivery confirmations.
Analyze transportation performance metrics and contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations and company policies.
Support the implementation of transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics technologies to streamline operations.
Provide regular updates to management on shipment status, potential delays, and overall transportation performance.
Work Environment
Work occasionally near mechanical parts and in high places
Exposure to cold temperatures in the winter and hot temperatures in the summer
Occasional duties in an outside environment
Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free warehouse and office environment
Physical requirements
Frequent sitting and walking
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. (anything over 70 lbs. will require team lift)
Requirements
What You Bring (MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS)
High School diploma or GED
2-3 years’ experience working in a warehouse or transportation capacity
Computer/data entry experience
Microsoft Excel proficiency
Proficient mathematical skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands
Ability to effectively communicate in English
