JOB SUMMARY
The Program coordinator must possess and demonstrate effective application of risk assessment, leadership, relationship building, decision making, execution, and accountability. He/She will be involved in the operations of the mammography program at UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper to ensure accurate letters reach the patients/physicians. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with securing grant funding for community outreach and promoting UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper by improving the disease management studies of breast cancer, preventive services, and provider recognition.
Partnerships will be developed with employed and affiliated physician champions caring for patients of UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper. This position will also provide leadership in achieving ongoing corporate objectives of growth and network development for the breast imaging programs including both the mobile mammography as well as facility-based services. These objectives will be based on achieving objectives through quality, financial vitality, employee, and customer satisfaction that make the UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper experience remarkable.
This position also performs the following duties:
Answering phones and facilitating patient and provider requests
Data input into medical record and other systems as indicated
Documentation of patient results and recommendations into electronic medical record
Review of daily, patient result letters ensuring 100% accuracy
Requesting and uploading prior Breast Imaging studies from outside organizations and retrieving pertinent medical records.
Tracks and documents all requests and addresses non-compliance. Facilitates comparison readings and coordinates follow-up exams
Daily review of patient schedules to ensure correct orders and appointments are available and all prior images are available per department protocols
Responsible for various Quality Assurance measures to ensure timely, accurate reporting and patient result notification
Assist Breast Imaging Technologists and radiologists as needed
Escort patients to other appointments within the hospital as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree preferred - Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in administrative support required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required: The ability to work with limited direction from manager, off-site by telephone, fax, or e-mail.
Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: The ability to work in a fast pace professional environment, multi-tasking while gathering, collecting, consolidating, and reporting various monthly summary reports from decentralized sources of information. Ability to effectively communicate with peers and UVA professionals. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. General working knowledge of breast imaging and patient journey.
