Required Qualifications:
Successful coaching experience, preferably in Robotics or STEM programs.
Alternate qualifications may be considered.
Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.
Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:
Leadership Roll with FIRST Robotics programs, preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of best practices in coaching.
Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
Duties begin with the onset of the school year and end with the conclusion of the robotics season.
Willingness to support, organize and communicate during the offseason.
Technical skills desirable (not required): electronics equipment, Arduino, programming, data analysis, fabrication including CNC, CAD and 3D printing. Willingness to learn and teach new material.
A successful candidate will be able to:
Availability for season duties, beginning on August 15 through the conclusion of the robotics season.
Relate to and instruct students in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
Develop and use strategies to improve individual and team play.
Ability to work cooperatively with administration and staff.
Ability to encourage student participation in the program.
Effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
Possess strong organizational, motivational, discipline and fundamental teaching skills.
Work with other mentors by supporting and encouraging students.
Able to communicate with students, parents, and other coaches.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
