MMI Engineered Solutions is currently seeking an Experienced Applications Engineer to join our Team. Located in Saline, Michigan, MMI Engineered Solutions provides world class engineering solutions for advanced composites and engineered resins across multiple industries. The Applications Engineer is responsible for solution development. Applications Engineers at MMI interface with all functional areas of the company as well as with our clients. Creativity, as well as the ability to envision solutions to complex problems is mandatory.

Essential Duties:

Interface with client to develop program timing and budgets for solutions with focus on weight reduction, cost reduction, improved performance, and functionality.

Facilitate project Kick-off, Prototype Build, DFMEA, Mold Design Review, and Engineering Schedule.

Understand and document application driven issues and incorporate into solution.

Original Engineering Drawing documentation and control.

Approval, implementation, and monitoring of Engineering Changes Orders.

Review and approve part design and 1st article/PPAP.

Develop program cost.

Provide creative and proactive leadership for concept development, part design, material selection, mold design, process engineering, and quality and assembly issues.

Concept for engineering analysis, design process, mold, gauge, fixture, and manufacturing/assembly process.

Approval, implementation, and monitoring of Engineering Changes Orders.

Special projects as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)

At least five (5) years of experience in design and/or manufacturing of tools used for complex molded components preferred

Five (5) years of experience in area of Plastic Injection Molding product design preferred

Practice understanding of program management principles.

Understanding of program control, tracking and measurement.

Inherent grasp of mechanical engineering process.

Experienced in complex application of FEA, MFA, and GD&T

Advanced mechanical engineering knowledge.

Demonstrated critical thinking skills and highly innovative.

Expert problem-solving skill set.

Data management and transfer skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Excellent workload and time management skills.

Complete understanding of Part Design Standards, Mold Design Standards, and Mold Manufacturing Standards, RFQ process - Design and Tooling quality - scheduling and delivery.

Domestic OEM or transplant PLM process experience preferred.
