Senior Technical Software Project Manager

Hanwha Vision America is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Software Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, full-stack IoT SaaS projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a proven track record of managing projects for connected devices, specifically in areas like streaming video platforms. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering (hardware, firmware, backend, frontend, mobile), product management, QA, and operations to align on our Product Engineering Process and deliver high-quality solutions on a global scale. This role requires collaboration with the company’s presence across various global teams (US East, US West, South Korea, India).
RESPONSIBILITIES
End-to-End Project Management Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of multiple, concurrent software development projects for our IoT SaaS platform, from conception and planning through development, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
Technical Leadership & Guidance
Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams. Understand and articulate complex technical issues related to full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, IoT device integration, user management, and streaming video technologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with product managers to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables. Collaborate with engineering leads (embedded, backend, frontend, mobile – iOS & Android) to develop detailed project plans, resource allocation, and timelines.
Risk Management & Mitigation Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage dependencies to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
Agile & Scrum Master Champion and implement Agile/Scrum methodologies, facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure adherence to best practices and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Communication Effectively communicate project status, progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
Global Platform Focus Manage projects with a global perspective, considering scalability, performance, security, and regional requirements for our SaaS platform and connected devices.
Partner Management Collaborate with technology partners as needed to ensure seamless integration projects with our SaaS Platform and project success.
Quality Assurance Work closely with QA teams to define testing strategies and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software for devices, browser, iOS, and Android applications.
Process Improvement Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation Ensure comprehensive project documentation is created and maintained.
Collaboration Work closely with product managers, DevOps, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality features and systems in Korea, India and US (California, New Jersey).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
· 7+ years of experience in technical project management, with a significant portion focused on software development projects.
· Proven experience managing complex IoT projects, ideally involving hardware, firmware, and software integration.
· Demonstrable experience with SaaS products and cloud-based platforms.
· Experience with projects involving streaming video platforms (e.g., security cameras, video conferencing, media streaming services).
· Track record of successfully delivering full-stack projects, including web/browser-based applications and native mobile (iOS and Android) applications.
· Experience working with global teams and managing projects for a global SaaS platform.
Technical Skills
· Solid understanding of the secure software development lifecycle (SDLC).
· Familiarity with IoT communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, LwM2M), embedded systems, and device management.
· Knowledge of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and microservices architectures.
· Understanding of database technologies, APIs, and system integrations.
· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.
· Experience with version control systems, particularly GitHub.
Project Management Skills
· Expertise in Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall project management methodologies.
· Proficiency with project management and collaboration software, including Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Microsoft Project.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, including proficiency in creating and delivering presentations using tools like PowerPoint.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Project Management Professional (PMP)
· Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certification.
· Familiarity with video streaming protocols such as RTSP, WebRTC, and Low-Latency HLS.
