Our client is a rapidly growing company in the environmental services industry. They are seeking a Legal Operations and Risk Management Specialist to join their in-house legal team. This role will focus heavily on enterprise risk strategy—especially insurance risk—while supporting legal operations as the business scales. This is a high-visibility role with strong growth potential and consistent executive exposure.
Job Description:
This position is 100% in-office with the ability to work remotely two days per month after 30–60 days. The ideal candidate brings 3–5+ years of experience in legal operations or risk management, preferably from a law firm or in-house environment. You’ll take the lead in vendor insurance oversight, risk assessments, and legal process optimization while supporting M&A due diligence and contract operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Management (Approx. 75%)
Coordinate with department leaders to identify and evaluate risks across the organization
Lead annual and quarterly updates to risk matrices using tools like Excel, ISN, and Avetta
Review and monitor insurance policies to ensure proper coverage and cost-effectiveness
Manage vendor insurance relationships, including negotiations and application reviews
Present risk summaries and recommendations to executive leadership
Stay informed on legal, environmental, and regulatory risk trends
Legal Operations (Approx. 25%)
Collaborate with legal team and contract specialists on standardized contract templates
Support legal processes related to M&A activity and corporate governance
Assist with legal system management, document organization, and compliance tracking
Coordinate insurance documentation and ensure accurate submissions
Qualifications:
3–5+ years of experience in legal operations or risk management
Prior exposure to insurance review and vendor relationship management
Bachelor’s degree preferred; notary license a plus
Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, data analysis), Adobe Sign, and risk platforms (e.g., ISN, Avetta, ERM tools)
Strong communication and presentation skills
