Summary:
We are currently seeking a motivated Project Engineer (PE) to join a growing mid-size commercial builder in their Vancouver, WA office. Known for a collaborative culture and strong mentorship programs, this company continues to expand due to a steady pipeline of awarded projects. The Project Engineer will support project management operations for a variety of commercial builds, ensuring schedule, quality, and budget adherence from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and manage bid packages, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, submittals, and RFIs.
Maintain current construction documents and ensure proper distribution to stakeholders, including subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
Support procurement efforts and track material deliveries to ensure timely arrival and installation.
Assist in developing and maintaining the construction schedule in coordination with the Superintendent.
Facilitate communication between the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding scheduling updates and expectations.
Maintain project documentation including meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, ASIs, and change orders.
Participate in project meetings and provide consistent updates to the Project Manager.
Assist with project close-out tasks, including submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, and final documentation.
Contribute to project cost analysis, budget tracking, and reporting.
Assist with processing and reviewing change orders for owners, subcontractors, and vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Strong proficiency with Procore, Sage 300 (Timberline), BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
2+ years of experience in commercial construction or related field.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, and clients.
Professional demeanor and discretion when handling sensitive project information.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $100,000 +/- per year, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time with a flexible work environment (mix of office and field)
Travel: Occasional travel may be required
