Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will mainly entail, but not be limited to the following tasks:
· Coordinate all sourcing activities at Mahindra Agriculture North America and Automotive division
· Evaluate the supply base for Direct Material Supplier Capacity.
· Create Dual source for Direct Material to de-risk the supply base capacity issues
· Working with Suppliers on Commodity Index Adjustment
· Working with Supplier on Price Increases and Freight Management
· Establish Cost Reduction Engineering goals with supplier and delivering the results.
· Supervise and lead all negotiations and prepare appropriate documents for same.
· Monitor all sourcing strategies and policies and ensure achievement of all business objectives and perform appropriate negotiations with all suppliers
· Collaborate with Product Planning team and initiate appropriate changes to engineering team and manage all research and development process.
· Work with India team on Cost Reduction Engineering activities.
· Work with Supplier Freight Cost Reduction
· Work collaboratively with product development, quality, and finance to manage performance and capabilities of suppliers to ensure quality, delivery and price commitment.
Requirement and Skills:
· Proven work experience as a Sourcing Manager or Procurement Manager
· Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management for Direct and Indirect Material & Services.
· Thorough understanding of global commodity indices for Raw material
· Thorough experience in Mechanical / Steel Fabrication category.
· Good experience in conducting zero based costing with supplier
· Thorough engineering knowledge on evaluating VA / VE activities.
· Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement
· Strong project management and leadership skills
· Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships
· Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data
· Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and preferably MBA
· Professional certification in Purchasing and negotiation techniques
· 7-10 years of experience in sourcing and procurement with a proven track record.
· 3 years of experience in business strategy and project management a plus.
· 5+ Years of experience in sourcing leadership role.
· Experienced SAP user is required with proficiency in procurement and materials planning.
· Proven change management process experience with the ability to drive positive change.
· Proven track record of driving cost improvement through Cost Reduction Engineering activities.
· Possess strategic thought leadership with ability to look ahead and respond proactively – bias for action.
· Strong negotiation and communication skills, and ability to converse with both domestic and foreign suppliers.
· Must possess solid judgement and work autonomously from established goals and strategic direction.
· Proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel, Powerpoint and Word. Familiarity with Office 365 is a plus (advanced Excel a plus).
· Ability to travel up to 20-25% of the time to domestic and international partners.
· Strong process-oriented skills leveraging systems, data and business process to drive sustainable improvements.
· Must speak and write fluent English.
