Job Title: Healthcare Interior Designer
Location: Downtown Minneapolis
Salary: $50K - $80K depending on experience
We’re partnering with a respected commercial interiors firm that specializes in furniture and space planning for workplace and healthcare environments. They’re seeking a technically skilled, detail-oriented Project Designer with experience in healthcare design and contract furniture to join their growing team.
This isn’t about designing sexy showrooms—it’s about thoughtfully selecting and placing furniture and equipment that supports patient care, staff workflows, and commercial efficiency. Think waiting room gliders, castors on chairs, vinyl selection for clinical use, and height-adjustable tables. Key Responsibilities
Conduct site visits and take field measurements to create precise as-built drawings
Collaborate with clients, sales, and third-party vendors to define functional needs, especially in clinical or commercial settings
Create technical space plans and furniture specifications using design software
Advise clients on material selections that meet performance, infection control, and durability standards (e.g., selecting healthcare-grade vinyl)
Present layouts and finish boards, including live design sessions as needed
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure clarity in order entry, product specs, and installation planning
Monitor project hours for design efficiency and profitability
Participate in site-to-plan reviews and punch-list walkthroughsWhat You Bring
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
2–3 years of experience in contract furniture, with a strong preference for healthcare-focused design
Understanding of how furniture supports clinical needs (ADA, infection control, durability, ergonomics)
Experience selecting and specifying commercial furniture, fixtures, and finishes
Strong communication and customer service skills—you’ll need to advise clients and stand your ground professionally
