Sr. Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis near Lisbon, Maine. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in financial reconciliation and reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.

• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to maintain a clear and organized record of company finances.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly categorized.

• Create and post journal entries to support financial reporting and operational requirements.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and generate reports.

• Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate.

• Collaborate with team members to improve reconciliation processes and reporting efficiency.

• Support audits and provide documentation as needed to validate financial records.• Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial reporting.

• Strong knowledge of balance sheet and bank reconciliation processes.

• Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and journal entries.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and deadlines.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet contract-based deadlines.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
