As a Project Designer specializing in structural engineering, you'll analyze building performance related to structural elements and site conditions for new construction projects. You'll review contractors' work, prepare design packages, and develop documentation that communicates complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.Responsibilities:
Perform structural analysis, design and detailing for diverse building types using various building codes
Coordinate design work with in-house staff and other design professionals including Architects and Engineers
Prepare construction documents within a Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment
Develop precise design specifications and calculations for active projects
Create technical reports with clear structure and language that clients can easily understand
Support project management by maintaining schedules, processing change orders, and monitoring budgets
Perform other duties as needed and assignedEducation/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in related field or applicable work experience
0-2 Years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design
EIT preferred
Understanding of processes, compliance, and other design consulting and construction professionals
Experience working on small size projects such as cultural buildings, office buildings, health care and research facility design, and tenant renovation work preferably in a consulting engineering firm environmentRequired Competencies:
Working knowledge of current industry software, including RAM, Risa 3-D, Revit and AutoCAD is preferred
Knowledge of concrete and steel design codes, masonry, and wood design codes a plus
Familiarity with local and national building codes and design practices
Understanding of standard construction practices and ability to collaborate with contractors to resolve construction issues
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Detail oriented with excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities
