Job Description
PRODUCTION SCHEDULER
Responsible for the planning and scheduling of production per the customer order demands.
Processes all orders within the ERP system to produce shop orders for the production
schedules. Initiates and issues purchase orders for all outside production related services.
Works closely with purchasing on inventory and shop supplies as required. Supports
running and issuing of the daily reports. Responsible for ensuring all shop orders and out
outside operation purchase orders are closed and scans quality control sheets into system
for record retention.
Duties and Responsibilities

Reviews new orders daily and works closely with customer service on determining productive availability, lead-times and determining delivery dates. Checks customer orders for special requirements and instructions to capture on shop orders or outside operations.
Develops the productions schedules ensuring material available and reserved to the shop orders prior to issuing to production
Works directly with Customer Service to provide updates on order status, shortages and constraints impacting on-time delivery and/or on-time to commitments. Full ownership to monitor orders through to shipment
Work directly with Shop Supervisors, Project Specialist, material handlers and Purchasing to develop and align operations to the production schedules to achieve on- time delivery requirements.
Ensure production schedules, shop orders and any other supporting manufacturing documentation is issued in advance to production.
Create purchase orders for outside operations and work closely with suppliers on available capacity to ensure meeting on-time delivery requirements.
Dutifully report inventory transactions and discrepancies to Purchasing department and note, accordingly. Work with material handlers, receiving and supervisors on discrepancies in working locations.
Work with purchasing/materials management, to expedite parts/inbound freight deliveries as needed to meet commitments to customers.
Utilize the daily customer order report to adjust production and shipping scheduled, as required.
Close completed shop orders, scan, and attach quality documents to order acknowledgements.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Basic Computer skills including (Microsoft, Windows, Excel and Word)
ERP business systems and MRP experience, preferred
2 years’ experience in an operational planning position.
APICS and/or CPIM certified, preferred
Working Conditions
Position is exposed to a mixture of office and production environments. Temperatures will
usually be comfortable, with adequate lighting and moderate noise levels.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting performing data entry. Periodic to frequent walks of less than
.25 of a mile may be necessary.
