The ideal candidate will foster a dynamic, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students are challenged to think critically and develop a deep understanding of physical science concepts. This position requires a commitment to academic excellence, character development, and contributing to the broader school community.Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver high-quality physics instruction to students in grades 9–12, including but not limited to: General Physics, Honors Physics, and AP Physics.

Develop lesson plans, assessments, and lab activities that align with the school's curriculum, academic standards, and best teaching practices.

Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, technologies, and hands-on laboratory experiences to engage diverse learners.

Promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of physics principles.

Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades.

Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.

Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department and across disciplines to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, parent conferences, and school events.

Serve as an advisor, mentor, or coach as part of the school’s commitment to holistic student development.

Uphold and model the school's mission, values, and code of conduct.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Previous high school teaching experience strongly preferred, particularly in a private or independent school setting.

Ability to teach multiple levels of Physics, including Honors or AP courses.

Strong classroom management skills and ability to build positive relationships with students.

Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Commitment to professional growth and continued learning.

Familiarity with educational technology and innovative teaching methodologies. Preferred Skills:

Experience with laboratory management and safety protocols.

Experience integrating STEM, robotics, or engineering concepts into the curriculum.

Familiarity with college preparatory and advanced placement curricula.

Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities, clubs, or athletics.
