An opportunity exists for a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to support a vibrant middle school environment in Taylor, TX. This role is integral in facilitating munication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, enabling their full participation in the classroom.
Location: Taylor, TX
Responsibilities:
Provide interpretation services for students in various classroom settings and school activities.
Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure effective munication and accessibility.
Adapt interpretation methods as needed to suit different subjects and age groups.
Attend meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as required.
Maintain accurate documentation and ply with all state certification requirements.
Qualifications:
BEI certified as a Sign Language Interpreter in the State of Texas.
Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with middle school students.
Strong understanding of deaf culture and specialized munication techniques.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to varying schedules.
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster relationships with students, staff, and families.
