Job Description

Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.

This position is for a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support a 7th-grade student in a K-12 educational setting during the 2025-2026 school year. The role focuses on facilitating effective munication between the student and educational staff, ensuring full access to the curriculum and school environment.

Location: Primarily based in Aurora, IL, with openings also available in Ottawa, IL, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation in classroom and school-related activities.

Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance munication and learning opportunities.

Maintain confidentiality and uphold the students dignity and rights.

Attend relevant meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

ISBE Approval as a Sign Language Interpreter is required.

Candidates with a minimum EIPA of 3.0 or higher may qualify for temporary approval.

Prior experience working with middle school students is preferred.

Strong knowledge of sign language and interpreting best practices.

Excellent munication and interpersonal skills.

Contract Details:

Position is contract-based for the 2025-2026 school year.

Work locations include Aurora, IL, Ottawa, IL, and nearby munities.
