Key Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom activities.
Support individual students as well as group sessions, ensuring all participants can engage fully.
Maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff to adapt munication methods to meet student needs.
Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the learning environment for students with disabilities.
Stay informed about developments in sign language interpretation and educational methodologies.
Qualifications:
Valid EIPA certification with a score of 3.5 or higher.
Proven experience working with high school students in an educational setting.
Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with the deaf culture.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and classroom dynamics.
