Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cable and wire harness manufacturing, electronic assemblies-particularly power systems for military applications-and test equipment. This role requires hands-on experience with soldering to J-STD and IPC standards, the ability to create and modify work instructions, and proficiency in interpreting specifications and schematics. Familiarity with ERP systems, especially Deltek Costpoint, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for cable and wire harness assemblies, ensuring compliance with military and industry standards.
Create and update detailed work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures to enhance product manufacturability and documentation accuracy.
Interpret and generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and schematics for electronic assemblies and test equipment.
Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to improve product design for manufacturability and ease of assembly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to quality standards, including IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 soldering requirements.
Utilize ERP systems, particularly Deltek Costpoint, to manage manufacturing data, track production progress, and maintain inventory accuracy.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on cable and wire harnesses, electronic assemblies, and test equipment.
Proficiency in soldering to J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards, with relevant certifications preferred.
Experience creating and modifying work instructions, BOMs, and process documentation.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
Familiarity with ERP systems, especially Deltek Costpoint.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with military standards and specifications for electronic assemblies and power systems.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with test equipment and calibration processes for electronic assemblies.

Work Environment and Travel:
Work Environment: This position requires hands-on work in a manufacturing setting, including occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs. The role involves collaboration with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products.
Travel: Occasional travel (0%-5%) may be required.
