Position Summary:
To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform essential job duties with minimal supervision. Must be able to manage the day-to-day activities of all production operations; including scheduling, productivity, safety, cost saving measures and provide technical support as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities are essential. Other duties may be assigned and/or applied
Supervise, direct, coordinate and evaluate all personnel activities concerned with manufacturing
Plan and direct manufacturing activities and priorities in keeping with the organization’s policies, quality standards and cost factors
Coordinate with Field Service Manager and assist as needed for on-site work preparation
Coordinate with Lead Technicians to manage work priorities in accordance with work schedules, delivery dates and workmanship
Coordinate with Senior level management to obtain optimal use of employees and equipment resources
Coordinate with Quality Control manager to ensure product manufacturing is conducted to specifications
Monitor the availability of correct tools and materials in all work areas
Through collaboration and effective communication with appropriate parties, develop and implement methods and procedures to eliminate operational problems and improve product quality
Communicate and coordinate with the Engineering department to modify drawings of equipment and/or parts to improve production and quality of products
Demonstrate, and require, a safe work practice for all Shop employees
Work with the Safety personnel for all required training and credentialing for Shop employees
Review reports on progress, materials used and cost; if necessary, adjust work schedules as needed
Effectively communicate any/all changes in schedules, manufacturing processes and/or procedures to all Shop employees
Confers with department heads to coordinate activities on individual departments
Directly support Owner/President/Top Management in all aspects of daily plant operations

Proven understanding of and experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively solve problems, both on an individual and collaborative approach
Must believe in the “TEAM” approach to problem solving and have proven success in leading teams to resolve specific problems
Working knowledge of Bill of Material
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as blueprints, CAD drawings, safety rules, OEM manuals and procedure manuals
Basic knowledge of the financial aspects of manufacturing
Basic knowledge of Human Resources laws, rules and regulations
Ability to create employee training and development plans and willingness to act as a Mentor
Strong understanding of the machinery and equipment with the ability to know when to assume responsibility and when to delegate
Ability to travel as needed
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
Three (3) years prior and/or related experience.
Language Ability:
Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
Communicate and understand job instructions, both verbally and written.
Math Ability:
Basic mathematical computation ability (fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.).
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
Computer Skills:
This job does require computer skills.
