SUMMARY:
The Tooling Generalist supports the Tooling Technician in the repair, modification, and maintenance of molds and related equipment, with a key responsibility of focusing on the maintenance and installation of auto vents for all tools. This role is essential in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of tools and equipment in the manufacturing process.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing defects in molds under the direction of the Tooling Technician.
Support the performance of modifications and repairs on molds as instructed.
Focus on the maintenance and installation of auto vents for all tools, ensuring proper operation and adherence to manufacturing standards.
Help maintain proper housekeeping practices and ensure molds are stored appropriately.
Aid in coordinating and communicating with vendors regarding mold repairs and equipment needs.
Conduct audits and assessments to identify potential areas of risk and develop mitigation strategies. Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the tooling function. This would include: IATF, ISO, and TISAX.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Encourage safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers.
Collaborate effectively with the Tooling Technician and other team members to ensure a smooth workflow and timely task completion.
Additional duties as needed and assigned.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Some experience or training in mechanical maintenance or machining is preferred.
Welding experience preferred (Mig, Tig, Acetylene)
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of tooling and mold maintenance.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Employee must have a working knowledge of manufacturing maintenance. The individual will be responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process and executing long term strategic plans. Must be self-motivated and possess well developed leadership skills.
Minimum Requirement:
High school diploma
1 to 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instruction and basic directions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
