POSITION SUMMARY:
Facilitate the efficient operation of the administrator's office
Provide clerical services to the administrator and other staff members QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills:
Have thirty (30) semester hours of college credit with some business orientation or equivalent business school training or
Five years of general clerical/secretarial experience or
Three years of experience as an Educational Secretary
Office management skills
Basic computer skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
Ability to work congenially with school administrators, instructional personnel, support staff members, and others MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promote good public relations by assisting students, teachers, and parents
Schedule meetings and appointments for the assistant principal
Originate, draft, distribute, and file documents that are essential to the operation of the office
Maintain accurate files for the assistant principal
Monitor student attendance records
Make daily attendance calls to parents
Oversee daily student check-in/check-out procedures
Assist in report preparation
Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route messages to appropriate staff
Greet visitors, determine their needs, and direct them to the appropriate person or office
Communicate with school personnel regarding student discipline
Facilitate and oversee daily office operations
Assist the school receptionist with receiving incoming calls, taking reliable messages, and routing community members to the appropriate staff
Assist the campus administrator in the needs of running the business of the school and perform any duties as assigned by the campus administrator EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer, printer, modem, typewriter, copier, fax machine WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to perform a variety of duties concurrently
Ability to maintain control in stressful situations
Work in a small office environment with frequent interruptions
