Responsibilities

The Controls Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving manufacturing equipment in a dynamic automotive environment:

Assist in developing and maintaining equipment controls standards

Provide hands-on launch support and ongoing production support

Troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues

Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Integrated Product Development environment to meet project goals and equipment readiness

Participate in preventive maintenance planning and implementation

Actively research and apply new programming and troubleshooting techniques for advanced equipment systems

Mentor technicians and peers on control systems, troubleshooting methods, and product-specific knowledge

Other duties as assigned

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field preferred

5+ years of controls engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment

Hands-on experience with a variety of PLC platforms

Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with the ability to interpret related schematics
