Warehouse Mgmt. System (WMS) Director

Are you an experienced Warehouse Management Systems Manager looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for optimizing inventory management and improving warehouse efficiency? If so, we want you to join our team!

A Warehouse Management System (WMS) Manager is responsible for overseeing the WMS in operations and maintaining the WMS system. You will work closely with the warehouse team to ensure that the system is properly configured, maintained, and optimized to meet the needs of the business.

Role Responsibilities:

System Configuration, this includes setting up parameters, defining workflows, and creating rules for inventory management.

System Maintenance to ensure that the system is properly maintained and updated. This includes identifying and resolving system issues, coordinating upgrades, and ensuring that the system is functioning as expected.

User Training on how to properly use the system. This includes creating training materials, delivering training sessions, and providing ongoing support to users.

Data Analysis from the system to identify trends, optimize inventory levels, and improve overall warehouse efficiency.

System Integration with other systems, such as ERP or order management systems, to ensure seamless data flow between systems.

Technical Support for the DHL site team and customer, as well as develop and execute test and project plans.

To be successful in this role, a WMS Manager should have strong technical skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should also have experience in warehouse operations and be familiar with best practices for inventory management and logistics. Additionally, should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Must Haves

Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience

4+ years of experience in transportation or logistics or supply chain

4+ years of experience in a similar WMS-focused role using Manhattan or Blue Yonder systems

Strong technical skills and familiarity with warehouse operations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments

Nice to Have

Familiarity with best practices in inventory management and logistics

Experience integrating WMS with ERP or order management systems

Background in training users and creating training materials

Ability to analyze data to identify trends and optimize inventory levels

Day to Day

As the WMS Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Warehouse Management System to ensure it supports operational efficiency and business needs. You’ll configure system parameters, define workflows, and create rules for inventory management. Your role includes maintaining and updating the system, resolving issues, and coordinating upgrades. You’ll train users, develop support materials, and provide ongoing assistance. Additionally, you’ll analyze system data to identify trends and improve warehouse performance, while ensuring seamless integration with other systems like ERP. You’ll also provide technical support to both the site team and customers, and lead the development and execution of test and project plans.
