Job Description

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with a premier employer located in Goshen, Indiana is seeking a qualified candidate for the maintenance of their building, grounds and facility. This client is a custom manufacturer of thermoplastic hose and tubing products for the RV industry.

Building, Grounds, and Facility Maintenance Summary: The Building, Grounds, & Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the building and grounds in terms of upkeep, maintenance, and improvements. This position will also oversee the performance and maintenance of production machinery. The position works closely with the Operations Manager and Engineering on jobs and will assist third party contractors when they are on site.

Building, Grounds, and Facility Maintenance Job Description:

Hours - 6am - 4:30pm

Pay: $20/hr

Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.

Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.

Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.

Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.

Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.

Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.

Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.

Prepares reports documenting work performed.

Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.

Coordinates with manager to schedule regular maintenance on machines.

Collaborates with product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.

Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.

Performs building upkeep including repairs and improvements in all areas; within reasonable limit

Maintains a safe environment during winter season by using preventative measures for facility employees including salting sidewalk areas and shoveling snow out of sidewalk areas.

Keep records of cyclical building needs

Report on issues, malfunction, or defective equipment or facilities to Operations Manager and direct supervisor assigned

Performs periodic machine maintenance and repair.

Assists with electrical issues of building as able.

Maintains a clean environment of building by removing waste

Maintains a clean image of the building by occasionally picking up waste on the grounds.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Building, Grounds, and Facility Maintenance Requirements:

Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures

Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process

Align material and put together parts to repair equipment

Check work to ensure highest quality

Maintaining a clean work areas

Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.

Ability in using tools (e.g. Wrenches) and machines (e.g. Hose Crimpers)

Basic math skills

Previous experience working in a factory is beneficial

Good communication and teamwork skills

Physical dexterity

High school diploma or GED
