Position Overview:

Insight Global is seeking a CMM Programmer to join a space and aerospace manufacturing company. The role involves performing inspections and tests on parts and products using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). The programmer writes and runs programs on the CMM to ensure products meet specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Programming the CMM: Utilize Calypso software and Vision Systems to write and run programs.

Inspection and Testing: Conduct visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections for first article, in-process, and test operations.

Blueprint Interpretation: Analyze and interpret GD&T drawings, blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications and inspection procedures.

Measurement Tools: Use precise measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, drop gages, etc.

Documentation: Write inspection reports detailing results, recommendations, and required repairs.

Compliance: Ensure products meet industry standards like ISO 9001 and AS9100.

Quality Assurance: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of High QA.

Data Collection: Collect data from the CMM and report as necessary.

Corrective Actions: Discuss inspection results with responsible parties and recommend necessary corrective actions.

Machine Operation: Set controls, start, and monitor machines that automatically measure, sort, or inspect products.

Training: Ability to train other inspectors and help build the team.

Requirements:

Education: Associate Degree or higher (Bachelor's Degree preferred).

Technical Skills:

Proficient in interpreting GD&T drawings.

Experience with Calypso software and Vision Systems.

Knowledge of precise measurement tools.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100, statistical processes, and KAIZEN.

Soft Skills:

Good communication skills for interfacing with other departments and individuals.

Ability to multi-task with limited supervision and handle frequent interruptions.

Experience:

Background in aerospace, automotive, or medical industries.

Experience with geometrically challenging shapes and tolerances.

Work Schedule:

First Shift: 6am to 3:30pm.

Second Shift: 3:15pm to 2am.

Hours per week: 40, with overtime available.

Flexible work schedule: Every other Friday off.
