Contract

Newton, MA/Morristown, NJ/Wallingford, CT/Portland, ME/Conshohocken, PA regional offices.

Job Overview

The Senior Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes and serves as a key consultant to project management teams, ensuring client satisfaction through the delivery of accurate budget and schedule reports. This role is responsible for the validation, implementation, and oversight of Enterprise Planning & Controls software, as well as effective cost and schedule management for large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and present project schedule and budget status reports to internal teams and clients.

Validate the setup and management of Enterprise Planning & Controls software.

Ensure correct utilization of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

Develop and maintain:

Project schedules

Cost reports

Cash flow reports

Forecasts

Manage program controls reporting across multiple projects via a data warehouse.

Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to team members.

Support engineering, procurement, construction planning, logistics, and cost control efforts.

Serve as a technical point of contact for the project team.

Review and validate project cost management, forecast reports, and schedule progress.

Interface with Accounting to review costs and support external audits.

Review and analyze change orders (prime contracts, purchase orders, and subcontracts).

Conduct schedule "what-if" scenarios and earned value reporting.

Analyze risk, progress measurements, and performance indicators.

Oversee and maintain the risk management process.

Perform quality checks, inspections, and project forensic analysis.

Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

Minimum 7 years of direct project controls experience.

Utility Industry experience (Electrical Transmission & Distribution) required.

Proficiency in:

Critical Path Method scheduling

Project cost management and estimating

Earned Value Management (EVM)

Document control

Expertise in Oracle Primavera P6 is required.

Ability to develop and integrate construction schedules with engineering/procurement activities.

Experience with developing and reporting CPI (Cost Performance Index) and SPI (Schedule Performance Index).

Strong presentation and communication skills.

High attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

OSHA 10-hour safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
