Quality Control (QC) Supervisor – Metal Additive Manufacturing Medical Devices

We’re hiring a Quality Control Supervisor to lead the quality function in our cutting-edge metal additive manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring the consistent production of high-quality metal components used in medical applications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient in interpreting 2D drawings and 3D CAD files, and experienced in managing inspection workflows in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a team of QC inspectors performing inspections on 3D-printed metal parts.
Interpret 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD models to validate geometry, tolerances, and critical features.
Prioritize inspection activities based on production needs and component criticality.
Provide training and technical guidance on inspection techniques and measurement tools.
Mentor QC staff in metal AM-specific inspection, including post-processing assessments and defect detection.
Review inspection documentation and support root cause analysis and timely corrective actions.
Collaborate across engineering, production, and materials teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Maintain accurate quality records and support audits per ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and customer requirements.
Track quality KPIs and inspection throughput; recommend process improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in Quality Control, with 2+ years in a supervisory or lead inspector role.
Proficiency with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges); experience with Keyence systems is a plus.
Familiarity with metal AM processes and post-processing is highly desirable.
Strong ability to interpret GD&T, 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings.
Experience with QMS platforms and metrology/reporting software.
Background in regulated industries (medical, aerospace, or automotive) is advantageous.
Certifications such as ASQ CQT, GD&T, or NDT Level II are a plus.
