Insight Global is hiring for Machine Operators to join a project in Portland, TN with a multi-utility construction company. The company provides a wide range of services to support large-scale utility operations across the Unites States.
This position will be on-site for 12 months ranging between $25-30/hr based off years of experience.
In this position, you will be supporting construction operations by operating heavy machinery in loading and unloading equipment, supplies, and earthen materials and physically demanding construction labor.
Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Perform duties as assigned by the Foreman or Supervisor.
- Conduct daily inspections, greasing, fueling, and safe operation of machinery.
- Set up machinery and ensure safe ground conditions before digging.
- Monitor equipment operation effectively.
- Assist laborers as needed.
- Operate various heavy equipment, including Telehandlers, Ditch Witches, Backhoes, Trenchers, Plows, Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, Motor Graders, and Skid Steers.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace, including company equipment and vehicles.
- Follow all safety and OSHA regulations.
- Report equipment defects to the Foreman and Superintendent immediately.
- Obtain necessary operator qualifications as required.
- Complete daily equipment inspection reports.
- Follow safe digging instructions within project scope.
- Attend all safety meetings and training courses.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Distinguish safety colors with 20/20 vision (corrective lenses if needed).
- Ability to speak and hear worksite safety instructions.
- Endure prolonged lifting (up to 50lbs), standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, feeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Stand for long periods (up to 14 hours).
- Quick and accurate hand-eye coordination.
- Adhere to all established safety and OSHA regulations
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 1-3+ years of similar construction or machine operator experience.
- OSHA 10 certified
- Professional interaction with the public, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Basic knowledge of power tools.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
- Ability to understand directions in English for safety.
- Willingness to learn and work safely.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- PPE: Need to have steel-toed shoes
