We’re looking for an experienced 3- or 5-axis CNC programmer to join our team with a dual focus: precision programming and accurate quoting. You’ll be responsible for developing efficient toolpaths using Mastercam and providing accurate machining time and cost estimates — both for parts machined from raw stock and 3D printed near-net shapes.
Key Responsibilities:
Program 3- and 5-axis CNC milling operations using Mastercam
Generate accurate machining time and cost estimates for quoting purposes
Analyze and work from 3D models, 2D prints, and 3D printed parts
Select tools, create setups, and define optimal machining strategies
Work closely with production, engineering, and sales teams to support job planning and quoting
Optimize programs for efficiency, accuracy, and tool life
Support on-machine setup and troubleshooting as needed
Qualifications:
Proven experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC machines
Fluent with Mastercam for milling (required)
Strong understanding of machining principles, tool selection, feeds/speeds, and workholding
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
Experience quoting jobs based on stock material and near-net shapes
Preferred: Experience with Okuma 5-axis mills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Bonus Points For:
Familiarity with additive manufacturing workflows
Hands-on experience running CNC machines or working directly with machinists
Exposure to CAM automation or templating for repeat jobs
