The SilMan Engineering Team

As Controls Design Engineer, you will have a complete team of in-house professionals to support your efforts and collaborate with, including:

Sales, Estimating, Design, Applications, and Project Management

Our team has built a deep portfolio working with leading parcel, distribution, and fulfillment companies. As our Parcel BDM, you will expand on SilMan's success by identifying opportunities and preparing winning proposals for projects like these: Multi-site improvements for OnTrac’s West Coast network, including system expansion in Buckeye, Ariz., and a new system in Vancouver, Wash.; National program for leading automated singulation solution; Pack-out system for ThredUP; Shipping system for Levi Strauss.

Service Area and Residence

The CDE2 will report to the Tupelo office. Remote work with occasional travel to our Tupelo office will be considered for those with 10+ years of relevant experience.

What does the Electrical Controls Design Engineer do?

As a CDE2, you will take ownership of the design of electrical controls projects from the initial concept and component selection to detailed electrical system design. Your expertise will be essential in developing automation solutions for SilMan’s material handling clients.

Here are some of the responsibilities of this role:

Design electrical systems, including device placement, control panel layouts, and electrical schematics.

Material procurement of components, design networks, develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and validate equipment.

Mentor engineers and the Controls team

10% travel to customer sites

Specification analysis

What Makes You a Great Fit

10 or more years of relevant experience

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering

Self-motivated team player with strong oral and written communication skills

Fundamental knowledge & understanding of control and electrical system design

Ability to read and understand electrical prints and drawings

AutoCAD

Technical writing

SilMan’s compensation packages are carefully tailored to each candidate’s experience, geographic location, and current market considerations. Our competitive base salary ranges are researched and benchmarked against similar companies in the industry.

The anticipated compensation package includes:
