Commodity Derivatives Trader

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commodity Derivatives Trader with proven expertise in the North American Power or Gas markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong history of delivering a minimum of $10 million in annual P&L through trading derivatives. This role offers significant autonomy and resources within a dynamic and performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and capitalize on trading opportunities in North American Power or Gas derivatives markets.

Conduct rigorous fundamental and quantitative market analysis to support trading decisions.

Collaborate closely with risk management, research, and operations teams to ensure optimal trade execution and risk control.

Monitor and adjust positions in response to market movements, regulatory changes, and risk considerations.

Continuously refine and improve trading strategies to maximize returns.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience trading North American Power or Gas derivatives in a proprietary trading, hedge fund, or energy trading environment.

Proven track record of generating at least $10 million in annual P&L from trading derivatives.

In-depth knowledge of the North American Power or Gas markets, including supply/demand fundamentals, market structure, and regulatory dynamics.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and act on trading opportunities quickly and effectively.

Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to innovate and succeed in a competitive environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
