OBJECTIVE
The Project Manager for the Building Supply Division supports internal and external sales operations through quoting, vendor coordination, client service, and logistics management. This position will oversee project flow from quote to fulfillment, collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders, and ensure timely, cost-effective material solutions. The PM will support sales and growth strategies and serve as a key liaison for customers, both inside and outside of the SCS family of companies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collaborate with the General Manager to execute division goals and improve operational performance.
Coordinate project material quoting, procurement, and delivery across internal and external clients.
Provide detailed and competitive material quotes, sourcing from approved vendors.
Work directly with internal construction teams and external clients to understand needs and timelines.
Collaborate with purchasing to maintain pricing accuracy, product availability, and lead time expectations.
Track material orders, deliveries, and status updates for active projects.
Serve as a point of contact for material inquiries, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Analyze product usage and provide recommendations for improvements or cost efficiencies.
Work with accounting to ensure proper documentation and project billing.
Maintain updated documentation on quotes, project progress, and vendor files.
Provide timely reporting and metrics to the General Manager.
Assist with inventory management and planning to ensure consistent product availability.
Support development of internal process improvements related to customer service and operations.
Represent SCS Building Supply in a professional manner during vendor, customer, and site interactions.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Business, Construction Management, or Supply Chain preferred.
2–4 years of experience in a building supply, construction, or sales support role.
Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
Strong experience working with vendor quotes, inventory, and client communication.
High level of organizational skill with the ability to multitask across multiple projects.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory/order management software.
Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
PREFERRED:
Experience in construction material sales or project management.
Familiarity with supply chain or logistics in a construction environment.
Working knowledge of market rates and material sourcing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to work 40 – 45 hours per week during normal business hours Monday – Friday. Occasional supplier or site visits may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of this position is in a professional office setting, with occasional field/site coordination. Regular interaction with sales, purchasing, construction, and vendors is expected.
