Lift Truck Operators load customer and company trucks and railcars using a forklift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the Shipping Lift Truck Operator include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operate a large industrial forklift to maneuver and lift packs of lumber and other items as necessary to complete tasks. Utilize hand and foot controls to safely perform tasks.
Review a picklist. Locate, pick-up, and load packs of lumber for customers using a forklift. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of loads.
Distinguish between different grades and sizes of lumber.
Identify quality defects and take appropriate action to resolve quality issues.
Work with other lift truck operators and management to complete Shipping responsibilities and respond to customer needs.
Assist with spilled lumber by physically moving and lifting boards weighing 5 to 25lbs.
Perform cleanup duties as required in shipping area.
Perform inspections and check sheets on industrial forklifts to ensure they are in good operating condition.

Works in an air-conditioned forklift cab
Outdoor weather conditions when outside of the lift
Vibration
