MUST:
Experienced Systems Engineer
7-10 years minimum experience as a Systems Engineer
Azure/M365/Exchange Online experience
VMWare (ESXi)/Hyper-V experience
Data Backup experience
SAN (Storage Area Network) experience
Scripting/Automation experience
Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a related field with seven years of experience OR applicable training certificate issued in accordance with guidelines provided by software vendor (e.g., Microsoft MCITP/MCSE) from an accredited training institution plus at least seven years of task-related experience.
DUTIES:
Constructing, evaluating, and delivering financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible business decisions to support cost-effective and secure technology infrastructure on-premises and in the cloud with a focus on automation, sustainability, improvement, and best practice standards
Interpreting policies and providing technical recommendations and guidance for future programs, projects, and growth strategies; conducting project planning and resource estimation for new projects;
Designing and administering infrastructure solutions leveraging various virtualization and storage technologies (e.g., VMware/Azure/Pure/NetApp);
Developing operational procedures to ensure duties and tasks are implemented; evaluating and ensuring completed work meets performance standards;
Supporting and enhancing existing unified collaboration platform built on a hybrid Azure AD/Office 365 and on-premises Active Directory environment including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and supporting tools and technologies;
Deploying, engineering, and optimizing enterprise class and technology-based systems;
Providing recommendations for improvements, evaluating alternate configurations, and developing concepts for modifications and future systems;
Designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining various Azure Cloud Services such as Azure AD DS, Teams, Intune, AD Connect, and Microsoft 365;
Contributing to data backup, retention, and recovery practices and procedures for both on-premises and cloud hosted platforms including Windows and Linux;
Analyzing, designing, developing, documenting, and implementing enterprise architecture to include server disaster recovery strategies and fail-over operations to ensure business continuity goals are met;
Performing as a subject matter expert on specific assigned technologies and escalation point to provide tier 3 technical support for the team;
Analyzing business processes and services to determine how people, processes, data, communications, and technology can best accomplish requirements, while acting as a technical representative to the stakeholders;
Testing, monitoring, and maintaining infrastructure systems and applications for performance bottlenecks, identifying practical solutions, and working with other teams to implement resolutions;
Attending and facilitating technical design reviews and technical briefings;
Participating in outage incidents, assisting in the identification of root cause and remediation needed to permanently restore service;
Interacting and negotiating with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services;
Responding to internal trouble ticket system requests and accurately documenting the path to resolution;
Mentoring and training teammates on best-practices, troubleshooting, and automation;
Performing other duties as assigned.
