Linux Systems Administrator Highlights

The pay for this position is $41.00-$44.00 based on experience.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour daytime shifts.

Onsite position.

This position is a full-time contract.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and upgrade internal Linux hardware and software systems for engineering design and development.

Control user access and ensure security policies are enforced.

Propose and implement system enhancements to improve reliability, performance, and uptime.

Monitor Linux system usage and performance with proactive detection and resolution of potential issues.

Train users and provide technical guidance for system usage.

Work closely with engineering teams to ensure server solutions align with business requirements.

Provision physical and virtual systems.

Drive configuration management using Puppet.

Automate tasks, system builds and change management processes using scripting languages such as Python and Shell.

Continuously innovate and automate processes to improve operational efficiency in the Linux compute environment.

Provide best-in-class server and system support within the Linux compute space.

Requirements

3–5 years of Linux systems administration experience.

Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.

Proficient with automation and scripting tools such as Puppet, Python, and Shell scripting.

Experience provisioning systems (physical and virtual).

Strong understanding of system performance monitoring and reliability enhancement techniques.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
