Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio State Highway Patrol

Within the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), Office of Planning, Research & Development, provide program direction by relieving superior of non-routine administrative duties pertaining to the Photographic Services Photography Program:
Receive, coordinate & fulfill incoming requests for products & services;
Communicate decisions & directives to Photographic Services staff as directed;
Assist photographers on location assignments;
Formulate & implement program policy & operational procedures related to photography Program (e.g., research, develop, & implement new policies, procedures & best practices; communicate policy updates to all stakeholders; make recommendations & modifications to facilitate end user compliance; provide technical advice to aid director in decision making);
Utilize the Ohio Troopers Information System (OTIS) application & OTIS Web interface to search, manage & process internal & external requests for crash & criminal investigation photographic images;
Utilize various digital image management software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Bridge CS6, Extensis Portfolio, etc.) & devices (e.g., Rimage 5400N & Rimage 5410N Professional CD/DVD burners, Epson Scanners & Wide Format Printers, Fuji Frontier Mini Lab Printers, etc.) to process internal & external customer requests;
Oversee the destruction & purge of DVD's, CD's & photographic prints according to retention schedule;
Generate, print, & frame documents & certificates;
Assist with historical photos & artifacts;
Perform public relation duties; Represent OSHP in meetings with Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) personnel & the general public; Provide technical assistance;
Independently research information & prepare correspondence in response to inquiries & complaints;
Respond to programmatic issues or needs of leadership, staff or external stakeholders;
Answer incoming phone calls & assist walk-in customers;
Assist other areas within the ODPS as needed;
Mail out processed internal & external requests through interoffice mail or vendor mail;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in business administration, management science or public administration.
- If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.
-OR completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration;
AND 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position which involved limited research & public contact.
- If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.
-OR completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file (Photography Program);
AND 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position which involved limited research & public contact.
