Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the finance and accounting department at Lemontree Healthcare. This role ensures timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with healthcare regulations, and sound internal controls. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a mission-driven, multi-site healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Oversight

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee closing activities.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and healthcare finance standard.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Support the CFO in annual budget development and strategic financial planning.

Monitor department and organizational spending against budgets.

Analyze variances and provide actionable insights to leadership.

Team Leadership

Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, payroll specialists, and AP/AR clerks.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development.

Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Audit

Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.

Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid billing regulations and financial policies.

Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.

Payroll & Vendor Management

Oversee payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate disbursement.

Manage accounts payable and receivable cycles.

Maintain strong relationships with vendors and ensure timely payments.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

Strong understanding of GAAP, healthcare billing, and compliance standards

Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar)

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or CMA certification preferred

Experience in a healthcare or nonprofit environment

Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing procedures and healthcare financial reporting

Work Conditions

Full-time, typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Occasional extended hours during financial close or audits
