CNC Operator Job Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description. Other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and orthographic drawings.

Takes inventory by checking stock to determine the amount available, anticipated stock, and placing orders.

Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points.

Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, and attachments.

Accurately locates and verifies proper tools and tool inserts for operation of prescribed CNC program.

Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.

Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations.

Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.

Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions.

Reports immediately to supervision or designee all operational malfunctions including but not limited to equipment failures; equipment damage; scrap; etc.

Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Work Hours and Benefits: Shift is 6:30am – 5pm, Monday thru Thursday. 6:30am – 4pm on Fridays, with some overtime opportunities on Saturdays. Pay range depends on experience.

CNC Operator Qualifications and Skills

Ability to operate CNC mills and lathes.

Great computer and technical skills.

Use calipers, micrometers and other precision tools.

Read basic prints.

Good attention to detail.

Strong team player.

Must be self-motivated.

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

5-7 years of experience operating CNC mills and lathes in a production environment.
