Building Maintenance Tech

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Tech to join our team! The position is full-time with primarily daytime hours and occasional on-call duties. The candidate must have general HVAC experience and a boilers license is preferred. The position involves maintenance and repairs for a small portfolio of commercial buildings in the Twin Cities. There is occasional painting and supplemental grounds maintenance. Must be able to work in a self-directed environment and be good with time management. Competitive wage, based on experience and skill level. Work vehicle to be provided. EOE.

Responsibilities:

Keep all buildings and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition

Ensure building systems and equipment are functioning properly

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, rooftop AC units, boilers, heat pumps, cooling tower, VAV boxes, water heaters and softeners, door locks and closers, as well as other building systems

Estimate the time and extent of repairs

Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside contractors, when necessary

Perform routine preventive maintenance

Maintain material and supply inventory

Must be willing to go between different building locations to perform these tasks

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years experience in maintenance or other related fields

Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment

Ability to handle physical workload

HVAC knowledge

Currently has, or willing to obtain, a boilers license

Deadline and detail-oriented

Ability to communicate effectively with tenants and contractors

Must be good with time management and be able to work in a primarily self-directed environmentCompany Description
