Training
Please Note: This role may require approx. 1 weeks of onsite training in Redmond WA. Biblioso will provide accommodations and travel reimbursement.
Duration
This is a permanent Managed Services position
New hires will be considered Biblioso employees, placed on permanent assignments with our client at their Silicon Valley campus. Payroll/HR/benefits will be administered by Biblioso, but the candidate's manager, teammates, job site, network access, email address, etc. will all be with the client company.
Team Environment
In this role, the nature of the work is dynamic and requires a collaborative attitude. While you will have specific duties, it's important to understand that the entire team is responsible for the final delivery, and this may occasionally involve taking on additional tasks outside your primary responsibilities. The ability to adapt and contribute wherever needed is key to succeeding in this environment.
This team may require some schedule flexibility in order to coordinate with offshore teams.
Summary
The Lab Technician will support the design, deployment, and maintenance of hardware systems and infrastructure within a lab and data center environment. This role requires technical expertise, adaptability, and a collaborative attitude to ensure smooth operations and successful delivery of high-quality hardware solutions. Candidates with experience in hardware validation, prototyping, or supporting early product builds will be especially well-suited for this role.
Primary Responsibilities Include
Infrastructure Deployment and Maintenance
Physically implement racks, network equipment, power distribution units, and monitoring tools.
Build and deploy servers with wiring, configuration, and monitoring setups.
Design and implement cabling and power systems to support hardware.
Perform electrical engineering tasks, board troubleshooting, and system validation.
Maintain and support hardware in lab environments, including proof-of-concept and prototype systems.
Conduct electrical and mechanical debugging and rework (in-house or via external vendors).
Technical Debugging and Support
Assist with system setup and integration, both electrically and mechanically.
Install operating systems and run test scripts.
Program parts, including FPGA and Flash, and take scope measurements.
Use debug equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
Perform fine-pitch soldering, rework power components, and handle liquid loop assembly.
Collaboration and Flexibility
Support engineering teams in meeting final delivery deadlines.
Take on additional tasks as needed to contribute to team success.
Basic Qualifications
Associate degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
Hands-on experience with rack implementation, server builds, and network equipment.
Familiarity with board troubleshooting, electrical engineering, and validation processes.
Experience supporting engineering assembly and hardware system checkouts.
Bonus Qualifications
Technical background in hardware development (trainable).
Experience with data center hardware equipment and design (trainable).
Familiarity with DC network configuration (trainable).
J-STD-001 certification (preferred but not required).
Knowledge of LabVIEW, liquid loop assembly, and soldering.
Experience with server troubleshooting and OS installation.
Must Haves
Hardware test lab experience
